For my tech blog 2 I want to introduce you to the app Group Me! This app has saved my life on more than one occasion. It has helped me to connect with my classmates for group projects. Sometimes, people have different phone carriers which can cause a dilemma when it comes to forming group chats. Iphones are able to create group chats with other Iphones to keep people connected. If someone in that group has an android phone while the other members have an Iphone, the messages may show up on the android phone as separate messages. This can cause a world of confusion to the person receiving the messages as separate messages. Group me eliminates this exact problem. Group me allows its users to add people via phone numbers. They then create a quick 3 second profile to set up their name and picture photo. The group members can now communicate freely without someone receiving each message as a separate chat. Users of group me can have multiple chats on the app. The chats can also be muted. That way if a group consists of 64 members who constantly talk in the chat, a person can mute it during class time so they can focus in class. After class, they can read the missed messages and then unmute it or keep it on mute.
This app can become very handy in the classroom. As I mentioned above, It allows users to connect with one each other through texting. If a teacher assigns group members for a project, the members can all download the Group Me app. They can then send messages in the chat to the multiple group members and not have to send the same message to each of the members separately. This can help when it comes to planning a meet up time for the group members to meet in person and work together. The app allows classmates to easily reach each other and stay connected. It eliminates miscommunication errors and makes group projects much easier!
Group me is an awesome app! I never even thought of using it for the class room.

ReplyDeleteI love Group Me. I use it to connect with all my executive officers, and it really does come in handy when you have a group project. I think my favorite feature of this app is that I can silence it unlike having group chats through text messages!
ReplyDeleteI love GroupMe. It's really needed when one friend decides to switch to Android and ruins your iMessage groupchat.
